Calvaria - Caredda
"CALVARIA or skull in Latin, recalls Golgotha, the place of the crucifixion of Christ, the path that lead Jesus to the redemption of man. Here it is represented by an allegorical floating LED lamp in the shape of a skull which presents us in advance of the end and therefore of death.
The LEDs flow on the lamp like an infinite slot machine in search of an elusive jakpot that satisfies man"s eternal desires, so we see it flowing and alternating, once the skull has heart-shaped eyes to symbolize the search for love and indispensable affections for every human, subsequently the eyes are in the shape of a diamond, a symbol that contrasts with feelings and which visually recalls an upside down heart, to symbolize the search for success and earthly satisfactions. Calvaria therefore contrasts and communicates heart and diamond, and man's ability at times to be able to reconcile the two on an ecstatic level, the eternal struggle between good and evil, one can win and one can lose."
